The glassworks was founded in 1967 as a consortium of small Bohemia glassworks from the Bohemian-Moravian highlands.

However, the first mentions of glass production in this region date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Therefore, the region boasted a centuries-old tradition in the production of glassware, which was known even outside the country and appreciated for its diversity and high quality.

In 2009, the glassworks gained a new owner and changed its name to CRYSTALITE BOHEMIA. Production of the traditional 24% lead crystal was also discontinued and the production of crystal glass was started according to the new formula known as crystalite. This modern formula is perfect for the production of glasses, glasses and other utility glass that has a modern and sophisticated style.
